Miso Tasty launches new Mugi Barley Miso Soup!

Miso Tasty’s Mugi Barley Miso Soup with diced mushrooms is now available in Wholefoods, Ocado and, just in time for the autumn. It is the newest addition to Miso Tasty’s award- winning and growing range of healthy Japanese food products.  

Made with barley miso from Kyushi, Southern Japan, this soup has a warming hearty flavour and the earthy diced mushrooms provide a malty taste, with both sweet and savoury notes. The soup comes as a two-step kit, the fermented barley miso paste and the mushrooms are packed separately to keep their taste flavoursome. Just like the rest of Miso Tasty’s range of miso soups, this product is vegan, only 45 calories per cup and accredited by the Vegetarian and Vegan Society.

Fermented foods like miso are recognised for their gut friendly properties and aiding good digestion, joining the good bacteria family of kombucha, kefir, sauerkraut and sourdough. Naturally fermented for 3 months the Mugi Barley Soup has a gentler flavour, joining Miso Tasty’s 6 month fermented Shiro White Miso Soup and 12 month fermented Aka Red Miso Soup.
